On 25 March 2026, representatives of CP Tech GmbH from Büren visited the Institute for Lightweight Construction with Hybrid Systems (ILH) at Paderborn University together with representatives of PMC - Shanghai Prime Machinery.
PMC is a bearing manufacturer from Zhenhua, China, and CP Tech produces lightweight components for vehicle construction in Paderborn's neighbouring town. The product range includes components from motorsport to aerospace.
The visit focussed on the latest developments and challenges in the fields of lightweight construction, new materials and future fields of research in materials development.
Prof. Dr. Mirko Schaper and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Bremser presented current research topics at the ILH. During a guided tour of the laboratory, the guests were given exciting insights into the institute's innovative teaching and research infrastructure.
